Participation in the 2nd Forum of Energy Efficient Partnership
   On May the 12th , at the initiative of the State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine (SAEE) and the Ministry of Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Municipal Economy of Ukraine, 2nd Forum of Energy Efficient Partnership "Energy service: investments in energy efficiency of budget sector and benefits for residential buildings” was held in Kyiv.
    The event was organized with the support of the USAID project “Municipal Finance Strengthening Initiative (MFSI-II) Roll-out” and other donor partners in the energy sector.
   This year, more than 600 participants from all parts of the country came together to one great discussion forum to debate extremely important issues of country's energy independence, rapid development of energy efficiency sector, and implementation of energy service in Ukraine as a tool of investing in thermal modernization of public and residential buildings.
   The Forum opening ceremony was attended by Volodymyr Groysman, Prime Minister of Ukraine, Hennadiy Zubko, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Municipal Economy of Ukraine, Serhiy Savchuk, Chairman of SAEE, Ruslana Lyzhychko, People's Artist of Ukraine and civil activist, and Peter Wagner, Leader of European Commission's Ukraine Support Team, as well as leaders of international projects supported by USAID, IFC, GIZ.
   The Forum was highlighted by signing the quadrilateral Memoranda of partnership on energy efficiency in residential buildings between the SAEE and 13 regions of Ukraine at the level of regional state administrations, regional councils and mayors of the cities that are regional centers. In the framework of the Forum the MFSI-II experts enlightened the challenges that may arise while implementing energy service contracts, in particular, accounting and calculations issues, as well as proposals for their settlement. At the end, experts underlined that energy service will assist in overcoming obstacles that stand in the way of attracting private capital for raising energy efficiency in the budget sector.
