Implementation of Komsomolsk City Street Lighting Project to Improve the Level of Comfort for Road Users

   Thanks to support from the Municipal Finance Strengthening Initiative Roll-out (MFSI-II) Project, the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine approved the borrowing terms for implementation of the Komsomolsk City Street Lighting Project for the city of Komsomolsk, Poltava oblast, on 26 August 2015.
   The project's main objective is to implement a set of measures to upgrade street lighting in the city of Komsomolsk to ensure an appropriate level of street illumination in the city and reduce public expenditures through lower consumption of electricity, as well as introduce modern energy-saving technologies.
   Implementation of the project envisages replacement of the existing incandescent bulbs with LED lighting fixtures.
   The project will have a significant environmental impact, in particular, by cutting CO2 emissions by 308.9 metric tons per year and savings 386.1MWh of thermal energy annually. Also, the successful implementation of the Komsomolsk City Street Lighting Project will make it possible to save UAH 510,038 of municipal funds every year. In addition, this would allow to significantly increase the level of illumination of roads and pavements, as well as adjacent areas, thus improving the level of comfort for all road users.
