11 April 2016

On 5-7 April, experts of the Municipal Finance Strengthening Initiative (MFSI-II) Roll-out Project delivered trainings on the topic of Work of Budget Process Participants on the Official E-Data Public Spending Web Portal for key spending units in Khmelnytskyi and Sumy. The training events were held with active support of the Finance Departments of the Oblast State Administrations in these cities. There were six trainings with 324 participants held in Khmelnytskyi, and four trainings with 282 participants in Sumy.
The training events were attended by department heads and specialists from Finance Departments of the Oblast State Administrations, local Finance Departments of Raion State Administrations and Executive Committees of City Councils from the oblasts, as well as key spending units of the oblast and raion budgets, and budgets of oblast-significant cities, and representatives of associated territorial communities of these oblasts.
The training participants were familiarized with the legislative regulation of the development and operation of the unified public spending Web portal, as well as with the instructions for registration of the Official Cabinet at the E-Data portal, and requirements to filling-in the data on openness of public spending.
Such a work will provide a unified approach to the submission of information on the use of budget funds in understandable form for the public, increase citizens’ engagement in the budget process and enhance the transparency of public funds.
