The Lviv and Chernivtsi Residents Taught How to Realize Their Ideas Using Public Money
The Institute of Regional Development NGO based in Lviv, which has been selected on a competitive basis by the USAID Municipal Finance Strengthening Initiative (MFSI-II) Roll-out Project for the promotion of participatory budgeting, delivered training sessions for Lviv (29 August) and Chernivtsi (30 and 31 August) citizens on the topic of allocation of budget funds for implementation of priority municipal development projects.
The Institute experts have taught the Lviv and Chernivtsi residents how to prepare, submit, and promote their projects for improving life in their cities. The projects to win the greatest support from city residents will be implemented at the expense of municipal budgets.
The organizers have given practical recommendations to authors of project ideas with regard to creation of diverse projects, methods of their presentation and promotion among city residents. Also, the seminars have become a platform for networking, establishing new contacts, cooperation, and combining efforts of activists.
The residents of Lviv and Chernivtsi are now able to submit their projects online thanks to a user-friendly electronic Citizens’ Projects system developed by the MFSI-II Project. For Lviv residents the system is available at lviv.pb.org.ua, and for Chernivtsi residents at -gb.city.cv.ua.
