Reception of Citizens’ Budget Projects in Berdiansk to Start on October 17
23 September 2016
The first meeting of a Working Commission for implementation of participatory budget in the city was held in the conference hall of the Berdiansk Executive Committee on 22 September. The city government will allocate UAH 1.5mn for participatory budgeting in 2017.
Reception of projects intended to improve life in the city from Berdiansk residents will start on October 17. The Citizens’ Project online platform provided to Berdiansk by USAID Municipal Finance Strengthening Initiative (MFSI-II) Roll-out Project will make it possible for citizens to submit projects and support them by vote without leaving their homes. The citizens will also be able to register their projects with the Administrative Services Center by submitting projects in hardcopy. Also, the project voting venues were designated at the meeting. These will be Centers for Citizen Initiatives in each micro-raion.
The Working Group members have discussed an information campaign for engaging residents to submitting projects, in particular, training to be delivered by MFSI-II partner NOVA-Energia NGO.
